Our Orthodontic Solutions

We offer a wide range of affordable orthodontic solutions here in Lawrenceville. Take our quiz to see if orthodontic treatment is right for you!

Ceramic Braces

Ceramic braces are a good option if you’d like a less-visible alternative to metal braces, but you’re not a good candidate for
clear aligner treatment. Ceramic braces are made from tooth-colored or clear materials, and use a colored archwire and other components to reduce their effect on your appearance.

Traditional Braces

Straight teeth are more than just beautiful. Not only does a straight smile make you feel more confident, but it also helps protect your oral health. Crooked teeth can contribute to oral health issues, such as a higher risk of cavities, premature wear and tear, a higher risk of TMJ/TMD (temporomandibular joint disorder), and more. Braces are a time-tested, cost-effective way to straighten your teeth, improve your bite, and enhance both your appearance and your oral health.

Clear Aligners

With clear aligner therapy, you can get the beautifully straight smile of your dreams without the clunky, uncomfortable metal brackets of traditional braces. Clear aligner therapy utilizes a series of custom-made dental appliances that gradually straighten your smile by applying gentle, consistent pressure to the teeth

The Orthodontic Treatment Process

Consultation & Exam

To begin your consultation, your orthodontist will conduct a thorough examination of your jaw, teeth, and gums to address any misalignment or bite problems. Our practice offers various smile alignment solutions, so your orthodontist can carefully select a custom treatment outline that best fits your unique needs.

Impressions and digital imaging

X-rays, photographs, mouth measurements, and bite impressions will be taken so that your orthodontist can properly diagnose the problem and create a tailored treatment plan just for you. After the data has been gathered and assessed, your orthodontist will then design a custom dental appliance for your smile.

Placement, fitting, & next steps

After the dental appliance is created, your orthodontist will place it in your mouth and make necessary adjustments to ensure proper fitting and comfort. Your orthodontist will then provide you with care and maintenance instructions to keep your appliance and smile in tip-top shape. Visit your orthodontist every 4-8 weeks to track progress, adjust your appliance, and follow up with any questions or concerns.

Have Questions About Orthodontics?

What is the difference between clear alignment therapy and traditional braces?

While traditional braces rely on metal or ceramic brackets that are secured to each individual tooth and connected by metal wires, clear aligners gently and discreetly shift your teeth with barely noticeable plastic trays. Patients also find clear aligners to be more comfortable than traditional braces, because there are no sharp points to cause irritation or discomfort. Plus, clear aligners are easily removable so you can quickly take them out for meals, photos, and other functions, and place them back in at any time. However, clear aligners aren’t right for everyone. If you’re struggling with more complex issues like a malpositioned jaw or severely misaligned bite, braces are a more versatile and powerful type of orthodontic treatment.

Are clear aligners faster than traditional braces?

While the length of treatment can vary based on each patient’s individual needs, clear aligner therapy can often provide quicker results than traditional braces. Because the aligners push on all teeth, instead of pulling or pushing on each tooth individually like with traditional braces, they can dramatically, but gently, shift your teeth faster. However, to achieve the results you’re looking for in the least time possible, it’s important to follow your dentist’s instructions for wearing your custom-made clear aligners.

What age should my child be seen by an orthodontist?

The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that your child’s first check-up should take place before the age of 7 or any time an orthodontic issue is noticed before then. By the age of 7, your child’s mouth holds enough permanent teeth for an orthodontist to gain a strong understanding of your child’s mouth and jaws as they develop. This provides your orthodontist with plenty of information to give your child a tailored treatment.

Are Ceramic Braces As Effective As Traditional Metal Braces?

Yes. They are just as effective as metal braces and can correct the same orthodontic issues. However, ceramic braces do tend to be a bit more delicate. This means that it’s really important to follow Dr. Foster’s dietary guidelines and other instructions to keep your braces in good shape.
